Speaking non-dogmatically about religious beliefs and practices is such a delicate undertaking that it may seem like a gamble. What, in fact, is a “religion” (or what we call it)? A set of words, rites, beliefs that have no reason to exist unless they are recognized for the conventional meaning attached to them.
