Bitcoin auctions soar

“Forty thousand euros”… “40,500”… “41,000”… “41,200”… “Once, twice, three times… Awarded, sold!” In eight seconds flat, a bitcoin has just found a new owner, in the offices of the Parisian auction house Kapandji Morhange, this Wednesday. The French government was putting up for sale a total of 611 bitcoins seized in connection with a cybercrime case, with a theoretical value of $ 33.6 million at the current price of around $ 55,000. A price that the auctions have practically all reached.
